E90 - Turbocharger defekt - no connection between actuator (electric regulator) and turbo.

  • Hi!
I am sorry that I post the problem in English but I really need the help
    I have a problem with my car: 320d 05/2010, N47T engine, 74.000 km.
A few days ago it shows me: engine fault, reduce power, no full power available.... after I stopped and start again there is no problem, everything was ok.
I did go to the nearest BMW service (in DK, I am working there) and check the car for errors, and after they did an air-mass system test, found the Turbocharger defekt - no connection between actuator (electric regulator) and turbo. The leaver arm it not move, the regulator wheel spins but does not move leaver.
From the service he said that can’t be fixed or replace leaver or regulator, I have to replace entire turbo, which is cost approx.: 2600 euro (parts + work)
I don’t know exactly if this solution is the right one, for a small part to change entire turbo. Because of this I appeal to you, maybe you can help me with an idea of what to do.
Normal I live in Germany, but I don’t know exactly if I can drive my car to home (800 Km). I’ve used the car here for 150 km, no other issue, no noises, just sometimes it appears a light in dash, engine fault, reduce power, no full power available. I read online that sometimes BMW offers Goodwill service, and they will repair/exchange the part for free or partial.
    Thanks in advance!
