BMW 318i N43 - Katalysator defekt oder nicht?

    Hello, friends!

    Sorry for writing in English, but my German is not very good. I do not live in Germany, but the support for the N43 engine is not great on other forums.

    I have a 2008 BMW 318i with starting problems and severe power loss. Also the engine sound like it's clogged.

    There are no errors on the diagnosis.

    My mechanic says that the Katalisator is damaged and it needs to be changed.



    Are there any alternatives of the OEM katalisator?

    Any advice is highly appreciated! Thank you!

    **** was used. The mechanic disconnected the Lambda Sensor after the first Katalysator and let the engine run with the hole in the exhaust and he said that the engine was running good (except for the sound, of course) so he concluded that the problem may be after the first Katalysator.
