Hello,
I have already installed the PPK on my E90 320d '08 320d (177HP) since 2010 and I can tell you for sure, the following:
1) The Vmax limit is not related to the car tyres, but the engine and the factory limitations. Furthermore, it's based on tacho speed and not real speed (it's 235 Km/h).
2) Yes it does exist, due to factory warranty limitations.
3) After the installation of the kit, a total software update will take place (it lasted 5 hours on my car). Again, not related to the Vmax limitation.
4) Probably not, because it's something out of factory engine limits, and if something goes wrong (break the engine i.e) you will blame BMW and ask for any kind of compensation. But of course you can remove the Vmax limitation by software encoding, outside of a BMW dealer though.
My car with the PPK reaches 248 Km/h top speed now, where the Vmax limit cuts the power, see the attached recently taken photo.
Finally, I've tested a same car as mine with an ECU remap+ DPF off and Vmax limit removed, and I reached 255 Km/h top speed on the tacho. So, you earn +7 Km/h only, not worth playing with the engine limits.

Have you delede the vmax-limit or was ist done by a tuner?

a 320d does not run into a limit anyway.. with or without PPK

No, I haven't deleted the Vmax limit, that's why you see the tachometer to 248 Km/h, that's the limit.

But my E91runs with the PPK only until 238 km/h (19 Zoll) and not faster. You really feel, the the engine reduce the power. I would be happy,if my tacho would shows 248 km/h. Which tires do you have?

I got 225/45R17 ones and mine is E90..... Maybe that's the reason yours is reaching lower Vmax.... I guess....

Wieso sollte die zollgröße einen so großen Unterschied machen?
Wenn dann eher die Breite (205er vs 255er) und möglicherweise sollte auch berücksichtigt werden was für Temperaturen herschen und dann gibt es noch die Serienstreuung.

Ich fahre einen E91320d mit xDrive & Automatik in der Fleet Edition von 2011.
Eigentlich ein super Fahrzeug, allerdings dürfte es dann doch etwas mehr Leistung sein.
Würde daher gerne das Performance Kit einbauen lassen. Allerdings habe ich zwei Fragen dazu:1. Mittlerweile hat der Motor bereits knapp 150TKM runter. Ist da eine Leistungssteigerung überhaupt noch ratsam?
2. Hier haben ja schon einge das Kit in ein Fleet Modell eingebaut. Wie sind denn die Erfahrungswerte? Ist der Sprung ordentlich spürbar? Sind ja dann, zumindest auf dem Papier, knapp 40 PS mehr.
Würdet ihr es nochmal machen?Danke und Gruß

Ich habe mir das ppk Anfang des Jahres einbauen lassen bei ca.120tkm. Ich würde sagen man kann es bei 150tkm noch verbauen lassen wenn man das Fahrzeug eh noch etwas länger fahren will.Und zu dem Punkt ob es spürbar ist:
Ja es ist spürbar definitiv aber man darf sich nicht vorstellen das es so extrem ist, aber ich würde es wieder einbauen lassen.(auch wenn meine jetzige Versicherung mich da geschockt hat was sie von mir mehr haben will...
)
